My FASHION ICON- GRACE JONES-LIVING JAMAICAN-AMERICAN LEGEND

Every generation there is a fashion ICON that comes around. Being from Jamaican -American I am very proud to pay homage to Jamaican Iconic Superstar GRACE JONES. Controversial, fabulous, artistic, fashionable, talented...so many words to describe Grace Jones. She insipred me in so many ways, for some many ways. To be self expressive and proud of ones self.

Grace Jones began her movie career with the role of a drug courier Mary in a 1973 film "Gordon's War". Grace got a breakthrough in her film career with the role of Zula in a 1984 film "Conan the Destroyer" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie became a big hit and Grace Jones landed the role of a Bond girl in a James Bond 007 film "A View to Kill" {1985} starring Roger Moore as James Bond. Jones played the role of May Day, the chief aide and lover to villain Max Zorin in this Bond flick. Her Bond movie became a big hit. She then followed it up with a role in a vampire film, "Vamp" {1986}. Her performance in these three movies won her Saturn Award Best Supporting Actress nominations for three consecutive years in 1985, 1986 and 1987 respectively. Grace Jones has also acted in movies like "Straight to Hell" {1987}, Eddie Murphy starrer "Boomerang" {1992}, "Palmer's Pick Up" {1999}, and direct-to-video films "Wolf Girl" and "Shaka Zulu: The Citadel" {both 2001}, and German language movie "Falco - Verdammt, wir leben noch!" {2008}. Grace Jones has also spent several years in Paris as a model, where she modeled for celebrity fashion designers and endorsed famous products.

Currently she is touring Europe with her new album in two decades titled HURRICANE and she is and forever will be a force to be reckoned with.
